A peaceful scene as the backyard rests for the winter. The snow atop the table was at least 14 inches high just after the storm that ushered out 2007 and welcomed 2008. Much had melted off before this picture was taken on the Saturday that followed the snow storm. All will be gone soon as the forecast promises a balmy 50 degrees on Sunday.

My Fall Holiday Postcard

I created this Fabric Postcard for a recent online swap. The theme was the Fall Holidays/Thanksgiving. The actual postcard measures 4" x 6". All the shapes were traced onto the paper backing of a fusible web product which was then ironed to the back of the selected fabric, before I cut out each individual shape.
The fabrics for the leaves came from a selection of hand-dyed fabrics that I dyed this summer. I love the subtle color gradations in the leaves.
Including this sample postcard, I made 7 postcards total. Each had a similar design to the one above.
